The Boston College Eagles visit the Wake Forest Demon Deacons in an ACC clash at BB&T Field. Boston College easily beat Holy Cross 62-14 at home last weekend while Wake Forest is coming off a comfortable 51-20 home win against Towson. Wake Forest beat Boston College 34-10 on the road last season.
Boston College Eagles
rides a wave of momentum after last week's easy win. Quarterback Anthony Brown
only played one quarter after tossing four touchdowns in the season opener against UMass. Brown will be rested so look for the dual-threat quarterback to have a big game against Wake Forest's weak pass defense.
AJ Dillon rushed for 149 yards and three touchdowns on six carries against Holy Cross and he's also in for a big game. Kobay White leads the team with 112 receiving yards and although they've faced two easy opponents, their offense has been incredible.
The Boston College defense limited Holy Cross to only 194 total yards last week and they held UMass to 21 points but Wake Forest is easily the toughest opponent they have seen this season. The Eagles have allowed just 35 points this season and they've been solid on both sides of the ball so far.
Wake Forest Demon Deacons
improved to 2-0 after beating Towson last week. Sam Hartman passed for 242 yards with two touchdowns and an interception and he has four touchdowns in two games but he's thrown three interceptions and Boston College has a strong defensive line.
Running back Cade Carney played well against Towson, finishing with 130 rushing yards and one touchdown on 19 carries. Carney now has 184 rushing yards in two games after amassing just 232 rushing yards in limited play last season.
Hartman's biggest weapon is Greg Dortch, who has collected 243 receiving yards in two games. The Boston College secondary struggled in week one against UMass and Dortch is one of the keys to this game for them. Wake Forest has been terrific on offense, scoring 74 combined points but Boston College will be a tough test for them. The Wake Forest pass defense struggled last week, conceding 345 receiving yards against Towson and Boston College quarterback Anthony Brown will exploit this.
College Football Trends:
The Over is:
4-1 in Boston College's last five games against a team with a winning record
7-1 in Wake Forest's last eight home games against a team with a winning road record
5-1 in Wake Forest's last six games after allowing less than 100 yards rushing in their previous game
5-1 in Wake Forest's last six games against a team with a winning record
I like the over in this contest. Boston College averages a sizzling 58.5 points in two games and they will be up against a shaky Wake Forest defense that gives up 310.0 passing yards per game. Both teams have potent running games and the Boston College rush defense is subpar at best. Plus, the Over is 4-0-1 in Boston College's last five games overall and 5-1 in Wake Forest's last six games following an ATS loss.
