All-Star Game Prop: A Run Will Be Scored In The First Inning

Mike Trout recently became the first player since Derek Jeter (Yankees, 2006-12) to be voted an MLB All-Star game starter by the fans in seven straight seasons and he's the reason why I like certain prop tonight.

Trout will play center field and hit third for the American League and he will likely face Dodgers ace Hyun-Jin Ryu twice. Here's why I think he can go deep against the left-hander and help us cash a prop at Jazz Sports.

Ryu (10-2, 1.73 ERA, 0.91 WHIP) is having the best year of his career, he's a National League Cy Young candidate, deservedly so and he earned the right to start this game but he's never pitched in Cleveland and he's just 1-1 with a 6.30 ERA and a 1.60 WHIP in his last two starts.

Mike Trout is 0-for-10 with four strikeouts in his career against Ryu but he's 7-for-15 with two doubles, two home runs and four RBI in six All-Star games and he's 23-for-74 (.311) with four home runs and 13 RBIs in 22 career games (21 starts) at Progressive Field.

Trout's credentials speak for themselves, he leads the AL with 28 home runs, 67 RBIs, 76 walks, a .646 Slugging Percentage (SLG) and a 1,098 On-base Plus Slugging (OPS), is second with 71 runs and is on absolutely on fire, going 8-for-20 (.400) with six home runs and 10 RBIs in his last five games. I will place a small bet on a run being scored in the first inning, with Trout continuing his torrid stretch, maybe the National League gets to Justin Verlander and wins this prop for us before the American League has an at-bat. We have two opportunities to get this cash.
