The Utah Jazz have their backs against the wall when they visit the Houston Rockets in Game 5 of their best-of-seven playoff series on Wednesday night.
Wednesday, April 24 at 8:00 PM ET
The Jazz played much better in the two games in Utah but they were still just 12-for-41 from beyond the arc (29.3 percent) in their 104-101 loss in Game 3 and 11-for-35 (31.4 percent) in Monday's 107-91 win, so they could have positive regression from downtown tonight.
If the Jazz want to force a Game 6 they'll have to build on Monday's impressive defensive showing. The Jazz outrebounded the Rockets 52-35, including a 16-9 advantage on offensive rebounds. The Rockets have a dangerous offense so it was extremely important for the Jazz to limit second-chance opportunities and control the pace.
Reigning Defensive Player of the Year Rudy Gobert came up big in Game 4 with nine rebounds and three blocks and if he dominates the paint again it will help the Jazz keep the Rockets under 100 points tonight.
The Utah Jazz are:
5-2 ATS in their last seven road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600
5-2 ATS in their last seven games when their opponent allows 100 points or more in their previous game
5-2 ATS in their last seven games after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game
The Houston Rockets are:
No key trends
Utah's superior defense kept them competitive in the last two games and they can keep up the pressure in Game 5, especially with Clint Capela (9.5 points, 10.8 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in this series) playing through two different respiratory illnesses.
