Dodgers Host Reds in Clayton Kershaw's Season Debut

Clayton Kershaw makes his first start of the season when the Los Angeles Dodgers host the Cincinnati Reds on Monday night.

In addition to Kershaw's season debut, this will also be Yasiel Puig and Matt Kemp's return to Los Angeles for the first time since getting traded to the Reds.

Kershaw signed a three-year, $93 million extension with the Dodgers in November and his return will provide boost a team that ended a six-game losing streak with Sunday's 7-1 win against the Brewers.

Joc Pederson and Alex Verdugo hit solo home runs to help the Dodgers avoid back-to-back sweeps for the first time since 2017, when they last dropped seven straight games. The Reds, on the other hand, saw their four-game winning streak end after a 9-5 loss against the Cardinals last Sunday.
