Two red-hot teams clash when the Boston Celtics visit the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday night. The Celtics have won their last three games while the Clippers have won four straight.

Recent Takeaways

Kyrie Irving had 30 points, seven rebounds and five assists and Marcus Smart and Marcus Morris scored 16 points apiece to lead the Celtics to a 120-107 win against the short-handed Lakers last Saturday. The Celtics shot 51.6 percent (48-for-93) and hit 14 3-pointers while limiting the Lakers to 5-for-27 (18.5 percent) from beyond the arc, including 1-for-5 by LeBron James.

Lou Williams exploded for 40 points off the bench, 19 in the second quarter, to help the Clippers beat the Thunder 118-110 last Friday. Danilo Gallinari had 34 points (15 in the first quarter) and Patrick Beverley took just three shots and didn't score but his defense was vital, as he helped hold Paul George well under his 28.6 average. George finished the game with just 15 points and he had just seven points on 3-for-10 from the field in 44 possessions guarded by Beverley.

NBA Trends:

The Boston Celtics are:

2-5 ATS in their last seven games playing on one day of rest

2-6-1 ATS in their last nine games against Pacific Division opponents

1-4 ATS in their last five Monday games

The Los Angeles Clippers are:

7-2 ATS in their last nine home games against a team with a winning road record

6-0 ATS in their last six games after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game

6-0 ATS in their last six games when their opponent scores 100 points or more in their previous game

6-0 ATS in their last six games overall

6-0 ATS in their last six games when their opponent allows 100 points or more in their previous game

These two teams met on February 9 and the Clippers rallied from 28 down in the first half to beat the Celtics 123-112. Montrezl Harrell was the X-Factor, leading the Clippers with 21 points and six rebounds off the bench. Harrell had eight points and six rebounds in 25 minutes against the Thunder and the Clippers need him to have a big game on Monday.

The Clippers ended the game against the Thunder on a 10-3 run, making all six of their final free-throws but they were just 9-for-16 from the charity stripe in the fourth and 31-for-46 (67.4 percent) in the game. Better free-throw shooting is a must if they want to beat the Celtics again.

This game will come down to Patrick Beverley stepping up on offense and guarding Kyrie Irving. Beverley had 12 points, including two key 3-pointers in the first meeting and he helped limit Irving to 14 points and two assists in 14 minutes. The Celtics are coming together but I really like the way the Clippers are playing right now and I can't go against them here.
