Warriors News: Klay Thompson's MRI comes back clean

Golden State Warriors fans can sleep better tonight, their team caught a big break when they received the latest update on Klay Thompson's knee.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, an MRI on Thompson's troublesome right knee came back clean on Monday.

Charania added that Thompson is expected to be day-to-day with a return based on how quickly he regains range of motion in his knee.

The star shooting guard has been dealing with knee soreness and he missed Saturday's 120-117 road win against the 76ers. There's no real urgency to get Thompson back in the lineup, the Warriors are cruising to the playoffs and pushing him too far in the regular season makes no sense, as their roster is still deep enough to continue their fight for the top seed in the West with the Nuggets.

It's still a relief that Klay Thompson isn't facing an extended absence. Thompson is averaging 22.0 points on 47.0 percent shooting, including 39.6 percent from 3-point range in 34.4 minutes over 61 games.
