The Nevada Wolf Pack try to stay undefeated when they host the Utah State Aggies on Wednesday.

Utah State crushes Eastern Oregon

The Utah State Aggies are coming off a convincing 84-57 win against the Eastern Oregon Mountaineers on December 28. Sam Merrill had a game-high 28 points with four rebounds and three assists and Neemias Queta added 13 points and seven rebounds and Eastern Oregon shot just 7-for-23 from 3-point range (30.4 percent), were outrebounded 46-34 and they turned the ball over 21 times.

Nevada moves to 13-0

The Nevada Wolf Pack improved to 13-0 after an 86-71 road win against Utah on December 29. Caleb Martin exploded for a career-high 33 points, seven assists and four steals and Jordan Caroline finished with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Utah outrebounded Nevada 39-30 but they were just 9-for-25 (36.0 percent) from beyond the arc and they had 17 turnovers.

NCAA Basketball Trends:

The Utah State Aggies are:

3-7 ATS in their last 10 road games

2-5 ATS in their last seven Wednesday games

2-5 ATS in their last seven road games against a team with a home winning percentage above .600

2-6 ATS in their last eight road games against a team with a winning home record

1-4 ATS in their last 5 games against a team with a winning straight up record

The Nevada Wolf Pack are:

10-4-1 ATS in their last 15 Wednesday games

33-15-3 ATS in their last 51 games following an ATS win

40-19-5 ATS in their last 64 games against a team with a winning straight up record

Utah State has exceeded expectations this season and although laying 9 points with Nevada may seem too much, they're really that good, particularly on the defensive side of the ball. Utah State hasn't faced a defense like this before and asking them to keep this game close on the road is too much.
