The Tennessee Titans look to keep their playoff hopes alive when they host the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday Night Football.
After suffering an embarrassing 34-17 road loss against the Texans on November 26 and having an early 16-0 deficit against the Jets on Sunday, the Titans completed an epic comeback and won 26-22 behind Marcus Mariota.
Mariota's game-winning drive was his 11th in four years in the league, the fifth most in the NFL since 2015 and his seven game-winning drives since the start of last season are tied for most in the league.
Although the Titans might not know exactly what Marcus Mariota will become, the young signal-caller has shown enough to earn the right to be treated as the answer under center for the foreseeable future. For now, the 6-6 Titans are focused on pursuing an AFC Wild Card spot.
Sunday's win gives the Titans a 15 percent chance of making the playoffs and if it weren't for Mariota's game-winning drive their slim chances would be pretty much non-existent right now.
The Jacksonville Jaguars are:
8-17-1 ATS in their last 26 games after allowing less than 15 points in their previous game
1-5-2 ATS in their last eight games overall
0-3-1 ATS in their last four games after allowing less than 90 rushing yards in their previous game
0-3-1 ATS in their last four road games
The Tennessee Titans are:
12-4-1 ATS in their last 17 home games
9-3 ATS in their last 12 games on grass
8-3 ATS in their last 11 games after accumulating more than 350 total yards in their previous game
7-3 ATS in their last 10 home games against a team with a losing road record
This is a bitter division rivalry and the Jaguars just shut down Andrew Luck and the Colts 6-0 in one of the most dominant defensive performances in franchise history, as they recorded three sacks, forced two turnovers and stopped three fourth downs, bringing back Sacksonville, the problem is that this game will in Tennessee and they're 1-4 in road games this season.
The Titans have dominated the Jaguars as of late, winning five of the last six meetings, including a 9-6 victory on September 23 in Jacksonville. Two field goals won't get the job done for the Jaguars here. One team will have Marcus Mariota under center while the other will have Cody Kessler, there's not much else to say.
