The Los Angeles Rams visit the reeling Detroit Lions on Sunday. The Rams want to get the best record in the NFC while the Lions don't really have much to play for at this point.

Los Angeles Rams
The Los Angeles Rams won a 54-51 shootout against the Kansas City Chiefs on November 19, in an epic game that is regarded as one of the greatest of all-time. Jared Goff completed 31 of 49 passes for 413 yards and four touchdowns in the win, Brandin Cooks had eight receptions for 107 yards, Josh Reynolds caught six passes for 80 receiving yards and one touchdown and Todd Gurley II ran for 55 yards on 12 carries.

The Rams are averaging 310.1 passing yards (5th in the NFL) and 138.5 rushing yards (2nd). Los Angeles ranks 20th with 25.6 points per game and 16th with 24.3 points against. Jared Goff has passed for 3,547 yards, 26 touchdowns and six interceptions, Todd Gurley II has 1,043 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns on 210 carries and Brandin Cooks has 59 receptions for 964 yards and three touchdowns. Cory Littleton has 91 tackles and Aaron Donald has 14.5 sacks.

Detroit Lions
The Detroit Lions try to get back on track after losing four of their last five games, including a 23-16 setback to the Chicago Bears on November 22. Matthew Stafford completed 28 of 38 passes for 236 yards with two interceptions late in the fourth quarter, which pretty much sealed his team's fate against Chicago. LeGarrette Blount replaced Kerryon Johnson and ran for 88 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries and Kenny Golladay had five receptions for 90 yards.

The Lions are averaging 241.4 passing yards (15th in the NFL) and 101.4 rushing yards (23rd). Detroit ranks 21st with 21.6 points per game and 24th with 26.0 points against. Matthew Stafford has passed for 2,841 yards, 17 touchdowns and 10 interceptions, Kerryon Johnson has 641 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 118 carries and Kenny Golladay has 52 receptions for 804 yards and five touchdowns. Jarrad Davis has 66 tackles and Devon Kennard has six sacks.

NFL Trends:

The Los Angeles Rams are:

8-2-1 ATS in their last 11 games following a bye week

The Detroit Lions are:

8-18 ATS in their last 26 games in December

4-11 ATS in their last 15 games against a team with a winning record

1-4 ATS in their last five games overall

1-4 ATS in their last five games against NFC opponents

0-4 ATS in their last four home games against a team with a winning road record

Star cornerback Aqib Talib is expected to return for the Rams, which can provide a much-needed boost to the secondary while two of the key playmakers of the Lions, running back Kerryon Johnson and wide receiver Marvin Jones are dealing with knee injures. Johnson and Jones missed the game against the Bears and they're questionable for Sunday.

The Lions will be at home and that's pretty much their only advantage over the Rams. Los Angeles has an explosive offense and a defense that can put pressure on opposing quarterbacks, which doesn't bode well for Matthew Stafford, as he's already taking too much of pounding this season. The Rams had an extra week to rest while the season is pretty much over for the Lions.
