Two of the hottest teams in the NFL clash when the New Orleans Saints visit the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday Night Football. The Saints have won 10 straight games while the Cowboys have won their last three.
New Orleans Saints
The New Orleans Saints look to pretty much secure the NFC South title with another win. The Saints never trailed against the Falcons, they took a 17-3 lead at halftime, with their defense making some plays and didn't look back in their 31-17 victory last Thursday. Drew Brees completed 15 of 22 passes for 171 yards, four touchdowns and one interception, Alvin Kamara ran for 89 yards on 14 carries and Dan Arnold had four receptions for 45 yards and one touchdown.
The Saints are averaging 283.5 passing yards (6th in the NFL) and 133.1 rushing yards (6th). New Orleans ranks 1st with 37.2 points per game and 15th with 23.3 points against. Drew Brees has passed for 3,135 yards, 29 touchdowns and two interceptions, Alvin Kamara has 706 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns on 150 carries and Michael Thomas has 86 receptions for 1,080 yards and eight touchdowns. Demario Davis has 76 tackles and Cameron Jordan has eight sacks.
The Dallas Cowboys have won three straight one-score games to take control of the NFC East. The Cowboys trailed the Redskins 13-10 midway through the third quarter but they scored three touchdowns in a 7:36 span to earn a key 31-13 win. Dak Prescott completed 22 of 31 passes for 289 yards and two touchdowns and he added 18 yards and one touchdown on the ground, Ezekiel Elliott ran for 121 yards and one touchdown on 26 carries and Amari Cooper caught eight passes for 180 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
The Cowboys are averaging 199.5 passing yards (28th in the NFL) and 134.5 rushing yards (5th). Dallas ranks 23rd with 21.3 points per game and 4th with 19.4 points against. Dak Prescott has passed for 2,427 yards, 13 touchdowns and five interceptions, Ezekiel Elliott has 1,074 rushing yards and six touchdowns on 217 carries and Cole Beasley has 46 receptions for 459 yards and two touchdowns. Leighton Vander Esch has 93 tackles and DeMarcus Lawrence has 8.5 sacks.
The New Orleans Saints are:
6-0 ATS in their last six games after scoring more than 30 points in their previous game
9-0 ATS in their last nine games overall
8-0 ATS in their last eight games on fieldturf
21-6 ATS in their last 27 games following an ATS win
8-3 ATS in their last 11 meetings with the Dallas Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys are:
5-11 ATS in their last 16 games against a team with a winning record
2-5 ATS in their last seven games in Week 13
3-8 ATS in their last 11 Thursday games
2-7 ATS in their last nine home games against a team with a winning road record
The Cowboys may have won three straight games but slowing down the Saints will be extremely hard. New Orleans has scored over 40 points in six games and 30 points or more in nine of their 11 games this season. Dallas will turn to Ezekiel Elliott, looking to keep Brees on the sidelines but New Orleans has the best run defense in the league, allowing just 73.2 rushing yards per game and their offense won't be able to keep up.
