NBA Betting Odds, Picks and Trends for November 23

There are some great NBA games on Friday, headlined by the Western Conference-leading Grizzlies visiting the Clippers and the Trail Blazers clashing with the Warriors. In this article we will help you build a case for betting the teams involved in the top games on tonight's NBA slate or the totals.

Grizzlies vs. Clippers

3:30 PM ET

STAPLES Center

Line: Clippers -4

Total: 214

The Memphis Grizzlies are on fire, winning their last five games and seven of their last eight. They come into this game averaging 103.1 points per game (30th in the league) and 38.9 rebounds (30th in the league) but they have the best defense in the NBA, allowing just 100.2 points per game. Mike Conley leads the team with 20.2 points and 6.1 assists and Marc Gasol averages 17.0 points and a team-best 9.6 rebounds.

The Los Angeles Clippers blew a 24-point lead in their 125-118 loss at Washington last Tuesday but they're 5-1 in their last six games and they average 117.9 points per game (3rd in the league). The Clippers have a balanced offense, with five players averaging double figures in scoring, led by Tobias Harris' 21.4 points and 8.7 rebounds. Lou Williams adds 18.8 points per game off the bench.

The Grizzlies are 8-1 ATS in their last nine games against a team with a winning percentage above .600 and 17-5 ATS in their last 22 games when their opponent scores 100 points or more in their previous game but just 1-4-1 ATS in the last six meetings while the Clippers are 6-1 ATS in their last seven home games.

The Over is 4-0 in the last four meetings in Los Angeles and 6-1 in the last seven meetings.

Trail Blazers vs. Warriors

10:30 PM ET

ORACLE Arena

Line: N/A

Total: N/A

The Portland Trail Blazers are off to a 12-6 start but they're coming off a disappointing 143-100 beatdown in Milwaukee last Wednesday. Portland has no trouble scoring, averaging 114.2 points per game and they rank second in the league, grabbing 50.4 rebounds but they allow 110.2 points per game (13th in the league). Damian Lillard leads the team with 26.4 points and 6.1 assists and CJ McCollum is having another solid season, averaging 21.4 points per game.

The Golden State Warriors have dropped four straight, their longest losing streak since 2013 and they're playing without All-Stars Stephen Curry and Draymond Green and key reserve Alfonzo McKinnie. Kevin Durant is averaging 27.2 points and 7.5 rebounds but he has to step up and be a leader, not just fill up the stat sheet and although Klay Thompson is averaging 23.6 points in his last 10 games, he's making just 32.4 percent of his 3-pointers this season.

The Trail Blazers are 5-1 ATS in their last six games against a team with a winning percentage above .600 and 4-1 ATS in their last five games following a straight up loss while the Warriors are just 0-6 ATS in their last six games after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game and 0-6 ATS in their last six games overall. The Over is 23-8 in the last 31 meetings.

Jazz vs. Lakers

10:30 PM ET

STAPLES Center

Line: Lakers -2.5

Total: 218.5

The Utah Jazz are reeling, losing two games in a row and four of their last five, allowing 113 points or more in those four setbacks, which doesn't bode well when going up against a Los Angeles Lakers team that ranks fourth in the league averaging 116.2 points per game. Donovan Mitchell leads the Jazz with 21.6 points per game but he's shooting just 42.4 percent from the field. Five other Utah players average double figures in scoring and they need to step up on Friday because Mitchell can't do it all.

The Los Angeles Lakers are coming together, winning six of their last seven games but they're still struggling on defense, allowing 114.8 points per game (26th in the league). LeBron James has been as good as expected, carrying the team with 28.9 points, 8.1 rebounds, 6.9 assists and 1.4 steals and Kyle Kuzma (16.6 points per game), Brandon Ingram (15.1 points per game) and JaVale McGee (13.4 points and 6.6 rebounds) have also stepped up on a regular basis.

The Jazz are 4-0 ATS in their last four games after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game but just 2-6 ATS in their last eight Friday games and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. The Lakers are 4-1 ATS in their last five games following an ATS loss but just 1-4 ATS in their last five home games. Utah is 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings in Los Angeles and the road team is 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings.
