The Denver Broncos try to end their four-game losing streak when they visit the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday Night Football.
The Denver Broncos are reeling, losing their last four games, including last Sunday's contest against the Rams. Todd Gurley II ran for a career-high 208 yards and two touchdowns to help Los Angeles beat Denver 23-20. Case Keenum completed 25 for 41 passes for 322 yards and two touchdowns but he threw an interception and fumbled once. Royce Freeman finished with 22 rushing yards on nine carries and Emmanuel Sanders caught seven passes for 115 yards and one touchdown.
The Broncos are averaging 263.5 passing yards (16th in the NFL) and 124.2 rushing yards (10th). Denver ranks 26th with 20.0 points per game and 21st with 25.7 points against. Case Keenum has passed for 1687 yards, seven touchdowns and eight interceptions, Phillip Lindsay has 346 rushing yards and one touchdown on 61 carries and Emmanuel Sanders has 40 receptions for 501 yards and two touchdowns. Todd Davis has 40 tackles and Von Miller has 5.5 sacks.
The Arizona Cardinals got their first win of the season when they beat the San Francisco 49ers 28-18 in Week 5 but they followed it up with a 27-17 road loss to the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday and they're still looking for their first home victory. Rookie quarterback Josh Rosen completed 21 of 31 passes for 240 yards but he threw an interception and the the Cardinals didn't get much from their ground game, finishing with 61 rushing yards and one touchdown on 20 carries. Christian Kirk made six receptions for 77 yards.
The Cardinals are averaging 156.5 passing yards (31st in the NFL) and 64.0 rushing yards (32nd). Arizona ranks 31st with 13.7 points per game and 14th with 23.2 points against. Josh Rosen has passed for 626 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions, David Johnson has 297 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 92 carries and Christian Kirk has 25 receptions for 311 yards and one touchdown. Budda Baker has 57 tackles and Chandler Jones has 5.5 sacks.
The Denver Broncos are:
0-4-1 ATS in their last five games
1-11 ATS in their last 12 road games
The Arizona Cardinals are:
5-2 ATS in their last seven games
4-1 ATS in their last five home games
The Broncos have to do a better job stopping the run after giving up 270 rushing yards and two touchdowns to the Rams. To make matters worst, Denver struggled on the ground against Los Angeles, amassing just 60 rushing yards on 17 carries and they won't beat Arizona unless they can ran the ball.
The Cardinals need a consistent running game or their offense will struggle because the Broncos will go after rookie quarterback Josh Rosen, which is a recipe for disaster. David Johnson failed to reach 100 rushing yards for the sixth time this season but this is the perfect spot for him to break that mark and keep his team in the game.
