2023 Bristol Food City Dirt Race Odds and Betting Preview

It’s time to get dirty! This week the NASCAR Cup Series heads to Bristol Motor Speedway for the 2023 Bristol Food City Dirt Race. This is the race where the entire surface of the high-banked track in East Tennessee is covered with temporary dirt covering. This is only the third year that the Dirt Race has taken place so the stats are minimal. But one thing is sure, oddsmakers are fading on one of the two drivers that have won this event.

Joey Logano won the inaugural Cup Series Bristol Dirt Race with Kyle Busch grabbing the checkered flag last season. This year there are several fresh faces at the top of the odds list, at least when it comes to dirt racing. Busch cracks the top five while Logano has slid down the favorites list slightly. Busch comes in at +1100, well behind the other four favorites, while Logano comes in at +1400.

As for the favorites, the lone front-runner is Kyle Larson who enters the race weekend at +475 with Tyler Reddick next at +600. As noted above, neither of these two drivers has won the dirt Cup Series race at Bristol. But they are topping the odds to win the 2023 Food City Dirt Race at Bristol Motor Speedway according to Jazzsports.

Kyle Larson +475
Tyler Reddick +600
Christopher Bell +650
Chase Briscoe +800
Kyle Busch +1100

Favorites to Win the Food City Dirt Race Outright

In case you did not know, Kyle Larson loves dirt tracks! While he may not have won the Bristol Dirt race, he’s possibly the driver in the field with the most Cup Series and dirt track racing experience. When he was out of the Cup Series for a season a few years ago he spent the majority of his weekends racking up dirt track wins around the country. That explains why he’s coming in as the lone favorite this weekend.

As for Tyler Reddick, he almost won this race last season! Reddick came in 2nd last year at the Cup Series Dirt Race after leading 99 laps. Kyle Busch grabbed the win at this race by taking advantage of the leaders banging against each other on the last lap.

Once you get past the favorites, there are a large number of drivers coming in between +1200 and +2800. That shows that oddsmakers feel that this race may be a bit more wide open than normal. It also signals that there are some value picks to consider.
