The Lakers reportedly made one of their young stars expendable. According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Lakers made Larry Nance Jr. available for trade, along with Jordan Clarkson and Julius Randle, who are expected to draw plenty of attention.
Larry Nance Jr. is under contract through the 2018-19 season and he's having a breakthrough season, averaging career-highs with 8.6 points and 6.4 rebounds in 21.5 minutes per game.
Nance is highly versatile and athletic, so it's shocking to see the Lakers looking to move him, but the team has the worst record in the Western Conference at 12-27 and their main goal might be to have long-term flexibility ahead of the next free agency period, when players like LeBron James and Paul George will be available.
